Summer Camp 2010 – Around the World
Once again, the best summer camp experience in Northeast Florida will be at The Village Academy. Come pick up your passport, and join us on a fun-filled, action-packed journey Around The World. Each week, we will explore the culture of another country, while enjoying indoor and outdoor sports and games, weekly field trips, daily swimming, and arts and crafts. We also have special activities like our famous Olympics week, dress-up days, and this year, our end-of-camp UN Carnival!
To better serve the needs of our parents in this challenging economy, we offer several part-time Summer Camp options. Your child may attend 2, 3 or 5 days per week. There is only a 2-week minimum, and your rate will drop beginning with the 6th week of attendance. We do need you to commit to the days your child will attend each week so that we can manage our total attendance.
Call 904.797.5909 to register for the most fun you can have in St Augustine in the summer!
Curiosity Camps
Last year we introduced Curiosity Camps at Village Academy North, and they were so popular we had to offer extra sessions. We are proud to offer them this year at The Village Academy.
Curiosity Camps are 1-week summer mini-camps for ages 4-7. Camp meets daily from 9-12. There is no registration fee, and the price is $75 for each Camp.
This year’s Camps should be even more fun than last year:
- Dr Gooey’s Science Lab – a hands-on, messy, noisy fun-filled week of
experiments that makes science come alive! (Jun 21 – Jun 25)
- Van “GO” Arts and Crafts – Explore colors and expression with painting, 3D and Junk Art, and a field trip to Cummer Museum. (Jun 28 – Jul 2)
- Iron Chefs – Learn about food from around the world by mixing, measuring, preparing and tasting. (Jul 12 – Jul 16)
- Where in the World is Carmen St Augustine? – Around the world in only 5 days with an exciting and fun introduction to cultures from across the globe (Jul 19 – Jul 23)
- Sing It! Play It! Shake It! – An energetic introduction to music, musical instruments, hip hop dancing, and more. (Jul 26 – Jul 30)
Summer VPK
For the second year in a row, St Johns County Public Schools has contracted with The Village Academy to provide Summer VPK. If your child missed out on School-Year VPK and will attend Kindergarten starting in August, then this is the program for you. VPK has proven to enable children to be better prepared for elementary school, and you owe it to your child to help them be as ready as their peers.
Summer VPK is a 300-hour, state funded program that is open to children that will be attending Kindergarten in August but who have not attended School Year VPK. There is no cost to parents. We only employ degreed, accredited, experienced teachers in our Summer VPK program. And we use the same curriculum provider as the St Johns County.
Classes begin June 14th and end August 20th. They meet daily from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
