Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is
a state-funded program that provides 540 hours of prekindergarten
education for four and year olds. There is no charge
to parents for this program, and parents are free to
choose their VPK provider.
The Village Academy is the largest provider of VPK
classes in St Johns County. We have invested heavily
in this program; in fact, we are the only VPK providers that use the Houghton-Mifflin pre-K curriculum, the same vendor used by St Johns County, at a cost of nearly $2,000 per classroom. We are certified by the state as a
Gold Seal Quality Care provider and are accredited by the Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment (APPLE). Our VPK program includes:
- 11-student and 20-student classes, with the latter
having both a teacher and an aide
- The Village uses
the same curriculum as St Johns County public schools
(Houghton Mifflin), so your child will make an easy
transition to Kindergarten
- A “wrap-around” program
to provide all-day educational opportunities
- Separate enrichment in Arts and Crafts, Science, Tumbling and Cooking.
- St Johns County Public Schools has contracted with us to deliver Summer VPK
We are now accepting enrollments for Fall VPK. Call 904.797.5909
To enroll in Summer VPK, your child must be starting Kindergarten in the fall and must not have attended School-Year VPK. For Fall VPK, your child must be 4 on or before September 1, 2011.
